Description
Darkness, fracture, and fire move through this Akkaashi with solemn intensity. The bark’s layered surface seems scorched and wounded, holding within it the weight of pain, pressure, and inner turmoil.
The title, From the Depths of Anguish, gives voice to the struggle suggested by the image. Yet amid the blackened forms and burning reds, pale passages of light begin to rise, fragile but insistent, as though hope is forcing its way through suffering.
Through this powerful meeting of shadow, ember, and illumination, Kianush reveals metamorphosis as a passage through pain. The work becomes a meditation on endurance, where anguish does not have the final word, and the first signs of renewal begin in the depths.
