Description
In this poignant Akkaashi, fractured textures and shadowed forms gather like displaced figures upon a wounded surface. What first appears as weathered bark gradually reveals a human drama, as though the suffering and memory of the uprooted had become embedded within its scars.
The title, The Refugees’ Plight, gives voice to the sorrow of uprooting, exile, and the search for safety. The muted colours, broken lines, and ghostly presences evoke vulnerability and loss, yet also suggest endurance beneath despair.
Rather than illustrating suffering directly, Kianush allows hidden figures and emotions to emerge through transformation. Nature becomes a silent witness to the shared wounds of humanity, holding within its surface the grief of the uprooted and the fragile persistence of hope.
