Save Me

A Poem from the Book:
“Through the Window of Taj Mahal” ( a book of 30 poems)

She came in through the door
With the treasure of loneliness in her eyes,
And the Spring pregnant in her bosom,
And the Sun waiting for the dawn in her womb.

Through the tempest I called her
But without any name,
And when she was free from the waves,
She sat on the shore of silence,
Bending her head down
From the Milky Way,
Nearly touching the Earth:
And I heard God giving a painful sigh.
I said to her:
“We are blessed
With the knowledge of each other;
Is that not enough?”
And she said;
“Save me!”

And I knew that saving her
Was losing my self,
And recklessly I let myself be lost,
And God gave a sweet smile
In the ecstasy of submission.
