A Poem from Katy’s collection, August 2021

The old house sits
Silent and sombre
In that soulful street

In the early hours
                  My soul takes flight …

I am here,
                 Once again
                            Step by step
                                          Room by room
                                                       I search for you …

No sound …
                 No warmth …
                           No familiar sight

I Cry out …
               Stumble and fall …
                               Darkness takes hold

***

A gentle murmur,
                A loving breath,
                            A flicker of light …

I open my eyes:
                         Here you sit
                                               within my heart
                                                                        Brilliant and bright
                                                                                                My Soul’s delight.
