Description
In this richly textured Akkaashi, the surface of bark is transformed into a landscape of shifting planes, colours, and forms. Dark blue-green masses suggest hills, rocks, and wooded slopes, while lighter passages open like sky, water, or sunlit earth.
The title, Homage to Cézanne, evokes a quiet dialogue with Cézanne’s vision of nature as structure, rhythm, and living presence. Here, Kianush does not imitate, but responds through his own language of Akkaashi, allowing the natural surface to reveal its hidden landscape.
Through layers of colour and texture, the work becomes both earthly and dreamlike. It is a meditation on the enduring forms of the natural world, where stone, vegetation, light, and memory seem to merge.
