Fishing the Moon

A Poem from the Book:
“The Songs of Man” ( a book of 47 poems)

For my Poet friend, Giles Goodland

I am sitting on the edge of a lake,
Fishing the Moon,
With my playful eyes.

Hanging in the air,
My feet are uneasy,
Impatient to feel again
The molten heart of the earth.

I dare not take a look
At the sky above
Lest I find it
Empty of the Sun.

Am I dreaming of someone
Who is dreaming me?
