A Rubái (quatrain) in Persian and English translation
Today, as a silent bystander, with no grief, no fear, I bid my ears the burning cries of blood not to hear; Tomorrow, when the shining face of Truth will appear, In mourning for yesterday’s broken, black I will wear.
