It Was My Destiny

Roaming the naked wilderness,

Climbing the hungry mountains

And crossing the thirsty rivers;

My hopes rose with the hills

Only to drop again into the valleys

And my strength withered away

With the heat of the nights.

Even though desires pierced my heart

And passion burned in my soul,

I struggled on-into the unknown.

The candle of faith flickered

And fluttered every now and then,

But I prayed and I cried.

At the back of my mind,

I always knew I would make it.

I would fulfil my destiny.

Then finally, I saw the light

That blinding fluorescent light

That illuminated the heavens

And my path. Then I realised it.

It was my destiny to overcome.
