Moonlight becomes you

In the witching hours we drain the blood

From the daylight life we live

Out of reach of the human touch

We cannot give.

Darkness enfolds you

In this long days journey into night

Ghostly hours slipping away

Words unspoken

Promises broken

Dreams never dreamt

Faithfulness becomes faithlessness spent

Indifference coursing through our veins unrepent

Bloodless bodies sleeping apart

Drives a stake right through the midnight of our heart

We gaze into the looking glass

But we are not there

Only empty rooms opening into empty rooms

Our disembodied shadows hanging

In the air.

Silence beholds you

We the living dead and buried

With our vows of life eternal, together forever, never shall we part

You must think of the children, they whisper

Live for the children

Live through the children

A shadow life of dreams lived within dreams

Until they are gone

And you wake up, strangers

In a desperate land

Living the nightmare you have come to embrace

But cannot hope to understand

Listening to the silence

The sound of one hand clapping

The silence of the damned.
