Morning rays dance on me,

unprotected from blanket of warmth,

See orange glow through closed eyes.

Penetrates deep in my skin.

Heat intensifies, giving off moisture,

beads on my lip and nose,

relief from a constant breeze,

makes it bearable to stay.

Lie here collecting "uva" and "uvb",

discolor me from pale to dark,

a healthy look of dead skin,

ripens me with age.

Like pancakes on a griddle,

this side well done,

flip to the other side,

bake evenly all over.
