We live in a big room,

mountain high ceiling above us,

sprinklers turn on randomly,

quench a needed thirst.

Light blue walls surround us,

green carpet cushions our feet,

Automated lights never burn out,

only fade off and on.

Natural fans blow soft breeze,

keep us cool from the furnace in the basement.

Living side by side, humans and animals alike,

we share space, maybe someday in peace.

The landlord lives upstairs.

He keeps watch over his property.
