A tempest of violent syllables

A deluge of throttled sounds

Sweeping through a limitless demesne

Of births deaths resurrections

And I

Rummaging through a heap of rubble

Among the vowelled ruins

Among the chaos of pulverized language

In the storm-smothered silence

Stumble upon

A bloodied phrase
